Choppity alternative: Shorts posted from a queue you set up once

Facts checked on October 22, 2026.

Verdict: Choppity or Stratos·Clip

Choppity and Stratos·Clip start with the same job: take a long video and cut vertical, captioned Shorts out of it. They part ways when it is time to post. In Choppity, each clip opens in a posting drawer where you pick a date, a time and a timezone, platform by platform. In Stratos·Clip, you set the channel up once, with time slots or a number of posts per day, and its queue posts the Shorts that are ready. Choppity is cheaper to start, $24 a month or $16.80 on a yearly plan, and also announces TikTok and LinkedIn since January 2026. Stratos·Clip is the Choppity alternative when you run several YouTube channels: 3 come with the Starter plan at $29.90, while Choppity’s Starter manages a single social account.

Choppity and Stratos·Clip in one sentence each

Choppity presents itself as AI video editing for creators and teams, a clipper that says it is becoming a “Content Operating System”, with an ideas board, a calendar and a scheduler.

Stratos·Clip scores every moment of a long video on seven criteria, from the hook to quotability, edits it into a Short with the template that fits your content (podcast, gaming, reaction, series or full frame), then sends it to your YouTube channels, and to YouTube only.

A drawer per clip, or a queue per channel

In Choppity, a YouTube channel connects through Google, and you pick the right one if you manage several. The help center then lays out scheduling in three moves. You open a clip and its posting drawer. You choose a date, a time and a timezone for each platform. You confirm, and the post moves to “Scheduled”. The ideas board is a second path: drag a card into the “Scheduled” column and it lands on the calendar. The calendar is where you fix a caption, move a time, cancel, or retry a failed upload. Neither the help center, the scheduler page nor the changelog describes a queue that repeats, fixed time slots or a number of posts per day. Going by the help center, your cadence is set one post at a time.

Stratos·Clip ties the cadence to the channel. You pick it once: time slots, say 9 am, 2 pm and 7 pm, or a daily number of posts between 1 and 10. A finished Short joins its channel’s queue with no date to type. An hourly scheduler draws from it and rotates between source videos, so one episode does not fill the whole day. If you dislike a Short, pull it from the queue or give it a date by hand.

Your job becomes feeding the queue. Each channel shows how many days of posting it still covers. An upload refused by YouTube’s quota goes out at the next slot. This setup posts about 500 Shorts a week on our own channels, October 2026 count.

One month on each tool

One YouTube channel, two Shorts a day, and four one-hour videos to cut this month.

On Choppity, four hours of video go past the Starter plan’s 3 hours of analysis. You need Creator, $32 a month or $22.40 billed yearly, which has 5, or extra hours through the slider. How many clips an hour of video yields is not published. To keep up two Shorts a day, going by the help center, around sixty clips each go through the posting drawer with their date, time and timezone. Whatever analysis time is left on the 1st of the next month is gone.

On Stratos·Clip, a one-hour video costs 22 credits, analysis and renders included, and yields about 16 Shorts. The four videos take four times 22 credits, inside the 180 of the Starter plan at $29.90, and add about four times 16 Shorts to the queue. Set on day one to two posts a day, the channel covers the month without a single date to enter. Credits you do not spend carry into next month.

On a yearly plan, Choppity stays cheaper for a single channel. The gap is in time: the sixty or so monthly scheduling sessions go away, and they go away for every channel you add, up to the 3 of the Starter plan.

Paid plans open with online payment. Until then, the “Notify me at launch” button on the pricing grid records your email and the plan you want, and the free plan already posts to one channel, up to 2 Shorts a day.

When Choppity is the better choice

  • You also post to TikTok or LinkedIn: Choppity’s changelog announces both since January 2026, while Stratos·Clip posts to YouTube Shorts only.
  • You polish your clips a lot: Choppity edits through the transcript text, beeps swear words and follows the speaker.
  • You work as a team: the Team plan card shows unlimited seats and a shared space at $48 a month, and the pricing page FAQ describes buying seats from 3 up.
  • You plan content before you shoot it: its ideas board runs from draft to scheduled post.
  • You connect your own tools: Choppity’s API posts and schedules, with webhooks, and Stratos·Clip has no public API.
  • You run one channel and pay yearly: Starter comes to $16.80 a month.
  • Your videos are not in French. The Stratos·Clip interface is in French, and detection and titles have only been measured on French-language videos. Try one video on the free plan first.

How to switch from Choppity to Stratos·Clip

  1. Create your space with a Google account and link your YouTube channel through Google’s official sign-in; Stratos·Clip only acts on the videos it posts. Add your other YouTube channels when paid plans open: Starter includes 3. Until then, the free plan posts to one.
  2. Set each channel’s cadence once: time slots, or a number of posts per day between 1 and 10.
  3. Check Choppity’s calendar: let the posts already scheduled go out, or cancel them. Start the Stratos·Clip queue after the last one, so no day gets a double post.
  4. Plug in your long videos by YouTube link or by file. Clips edited in Choppity cannot be imported as finished clips: Stratos·Clip starts again from the original videos.
  5. Only plug in videos you have the right to use: a Content ID claim applies to the video the channel posts.
  6. Cancel Choppity once the queue is running: your access there stays open until the end of the paid period.
